Iwate Prefecture

When one thinks of an overnight bus, one often thinks of college students who are saving money on a vacation. Last Friday, I rode an overnight bus. But this time I didn’t ride an overnight bus for a vacation. This time around, I rode an overnight bus so that I could partake in another volunteer trip up to Northeastern Japan . Unlike the other volunteer trips that I’ve participated in, this trip was to Iwate prefecture , not Fukushima prefecture . It was a volunteer trip run by the university ( Takushoku University ) that I attend. However, this volunteer trip was a lot easer than the ones I usually participate in, too easy in fact. We spent more time taking breaks than we did actually doing any work that might benefit those who live in Iwate prefecture. Seeing as it was run by my school, I imagine that they were concerned with safety, so I’m sure because of that the work that we did was limited. Introduction

I have decided to (yet again) change the website I use for my blog. Why have I switched the site I use a number of times? For those of you who write blogs, I’m sure you know how difficult some blog sights are to use, I’m also sure that you’re familiar with how many sites limit the amount of photos you can upload based upon the file size (unless you pay a fee). I apologies in advance for any inconveniences caused by me changing the site that I use, but I hope others can continue to read what I post. Seeing as we’re on the subject, I’d like to take the opportunity to write a little bit about why I first started writing a blog in the first place. I did so for 2 reasons: so that I could practice writing in Japanese, click here for my Japanese language blog , and so that I could share the culture and lifestyle of Japan with friends and family who aren’t in Japan.
